The BIG Difference between Jonathan and Buhari - Festus Keyamo

 The BIG Difference between Jonathan and Buhari - Festus Keyamo

 The BIG Difference between Jonathan and Buhari
The opinion of this writer is solely his.
"Do not forget that I am from the Niger-Delta region and all my close friends and associates are the main supporters and aides of Mr. President. Two or three Governors who are either my former classmates or colleagues are the main backers of Mr. President. It is so easy, so convenient and so seemingly logical for me to get into that political mix and forget about the good of my country for personal gains.

The disgusting message we hear all over the streets of that region every day at this time - promoted by the hirelings of the President – is that Goodluck Jonathan is “our son”, so we have no choice but to support him. In fact, I see some of my “brothers” from the Niger Delta region these days strutting all over the place, denigrating people from other regions.

It is typical of what the Yorubas call “omo oju ori ola ri” (a person whose eyes have not seen wealth before). But the question I ask those who tell me such nonsense and behave in such a manner is that: after the next four years, what is next for us? Is our entire future and that of our children dependent on a South-South President for the next four years? Kindly note that in getting down from the fence and speaking up at this critical time, I do not mind if you speak up for Goodluck Jonathan. Yes, you have a right to do so as a Nigerian. But, as an elite, your stand must be known so that when the massacres continue because of cluelessness, when the unrestrained stealing of our public resources continue, when darkness continues to befall the nation because of lack of power, it is important we all remember those who betrayed their conscience and the people because of ethnicity and self-aggrandizement and for posterity to record it as such.

We have a President who has no single appetite to fight corruption – yes, none. Imagine a campaign that is dominated by the theme of corruption, yet the President has decided to appoint a person facing trial for money-laundering as his Director of Media and Publicity. If nobody would say it, I will say it because I am the one prosecuting the fellow in court and the case has been adjourned to February 23 and 24 for trial. Part of the lies told is that the fellow has been freed whereas some of the counts in the Charge were just struck out and the court held that he has a case to answer on some other counts. Yet nobody is asking the President these hard questions."

"The clear alternative to this monumental mess is the person of General Muhammadu Buhari. Let us be clear that Buhari does not present the total package Nigerians want at this time. He is human, he is not perfect. But at this point in our history, at this time, at this moment, he presents the only viable option and avenue for the people to vent their frustrations and anger against an inept and clueless Federal Government. He represents the rallying point for the frustrated and teeming masses of our people. He reminds me of MKO Abiola (with some of his imperfections) who became the rallying point in the struggle against military rule. That is the change we are talking about. It is not a change from imperfection to perfection. It is a change from hopelessness and cluelessness to some hope and to some expectations."

Details About Actor Muna Obiekwe's Sickness & Death *MUST READ*

Details About Actor Muna Obiekwe's Sickness & Death *MUST READ*

New details are emerging about the fine Nollywood actor who passed on to greater gloy yesterday. According to Actress Vera Kanu (His Godmother) who spoke with my colleagues at ICampus Magazine, he discovered his kidney problem a long time ago but like most people, he thought he could manage it. She continued, revealing that he ignored the pain and continued working without paying much attention. He only took his drugs and medication once in a while as;

"Muna never believed the ailment could lead to his death. He believed he would survive it like he did the gunshot and death of his parents. He was not a man given to worrying about things. He believed it was not a coincidence his parents named him Munachimso, a name which means God is walking with me."
"The kidney problem persisted and Muna was eventually forced to seek the help of a doctor in a Lagos. The doctor gave him a ray of hope. He assured Muna that his worst fear of Kidney transplant might not happen if only he could do up to 20 dialyses."
"I was with him to the last hour. He was to do up to 20 dialyses; the doctor said if the dialysis improved his condition, the worse would certainly be over. He will be okay only if he stays away from alcohol but you know our artiste,"

"He was managing it on his own. As a matter of fact, he has been managing it for a while until Ejiro Okurame and I came on board to help. We were combining resources to help him but there was very little we could do to save him. We had to enlist the help of Patience Ozokwor and Kanayo O. Kanayo (KOK) at a point. They rendered the help they could until he died."
"The guy was private. He kept to himself a lot and most importantly, kept his private life private; for instance, many people did not even know he was married with two children. Such was his life. He didn't want press or his colleagues to start prying. He was particularly afraid of the press, hence his shutting his colleagues out of his pain. He knew if some Nollywood people got to know about it, the press would also get to know. He refused to beg to save Nollywood's image, he in-turn, lost himself."
Concerning him not heeding doctors advice and consuming alcohol, she said;
 'It's not like he drinks heavily like you guys said. He drank but not as you are putting it. Muna even called me during the holiday that he is now okay and ready to work so I should start bringing jobs because I was his producer. I told him thank God and that I would start as long as he does not do what the doctor told him not to do, which was drinking. The problem came back and he has been on it since then till he died."

       Another olofofo insider wh also squealed to the news portal said;
"the dialysis was expensive for Muna. He was doing two in a week sometimes. And he would need blood injection on each occasion. Each appointment was costing him between N250, 000 to N300, 000; money he did not really have to spend. His health was eating deep into his purse yet Muna refused to go cap in hand begging for alms. He was a private guy who didn't want the press or his colleagues to feast on his pain, and cast aspersions on Nollywood's industry of beggars"
The Olofofo insider also speaks on Muna's drinking saying;
"Everybody in the industry knows Muna drinks a lot; even when he's shooting in the North, he has a way of finding alcohol. He fell into it, after he lost his parents in a ghastly motor accident. 'As a matter of fact, he was supposed to be in that car with them but by stroke of luck, he wasn't and was spared. Afterwards, Muna took solace in liquor but that never affected his job. He was just like Sam Loco; he could drink the whole sea but when he hears the director shout 'action,' he gets into character. Muna was a method character despite his flaws'
 *Emmm.... which kind running mouth be this? Abeg they should allow the guy RIP, all these spills here and there to the media isn't necessary. Rest well Muna...

Reason Buhari Is Travelling To U.S

Reason Buhari Is Travelling To U.S

Reason Buhari Is Travelling To U.S
Contrary to claims that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress [APC], is traveling to the United States for medical reasons, Premium Times has obtained a correspondence indicating Mr. Buhari is only honoring an invitation by the Washington-based Center for Strategic and International Studies [CSIS].

Media reports had suggested some days ago that the APC candidate had become so sick that he was planning a medical trip abroad. Mr. Buhari responded by saying he was not sick but only had cold.

But the media house has now obtained a letter signed by the Director, African Programme of CSIS, Jennifer Cooke, inviting Mr. Buhari to the organization's headquarters in Washington DC "to give a major public address on Nigeria's future as it stands on the edge of a pivotal national elections."

Ms. Cooke gave Mr. Buhari the liberty to choose a convenient date for the proposed lecture.

"We propose to hold this event on a day of your choosing on either the week of January 5th or the week of January 26th, 2015 but will of course do our best to accommodate your schedule should you have other preferences."

Traveling at this time would mean Mr. Buhari opted for the week of January 26th. So there you have it people, the real reason Buhari is traveling to US.
